Natural Blood Orange Lemonade

Do you love mocktails and lemonades? Are you not drinking alcohol but still want to have a delicious drink in your hand? Then this natural blood orange lemonade will be for you.

Have you ever tried making your own lemonade? Then you know that there is normally quite a lot of sugar in there, and let’s not even talk about store bought. This natural blood orange lemonade is free from added sugar and takes advantage of nature’s natural sugars in the form of fruit. It only has 3 ingredients and is super easy and fast to make.

So if you are tired of just drinking water an want to spice up your dinner or party with a fun non-alcoholic healthy but super delicious drink? Then look no further than this recipe.

All you need to make a successful blood orange lemonade is:

  • blood oranges
  • lemon
  • sparkling water
  • a blender

You could also juice the lemon and the blood oranges but I prefer to have more fiber in my drink.  Juices are not a whole food because they are stripped off the fiber. They, therefore, make your blood sugar spike more even though they don’t have any added sugar. Fibers are also an important fuel for your beneficial gut bacteria. So any chance I can get my hand on fiber I take it.

To make the consistency of the pulp smoother I mix it on high in a blender. If there are still larger stringy pieces you could pour the mix through a colander.

You can add as much or as little sparkling water to your fruit mix depending on how sweet you want your lemonade to be.

Happy blending

Instructions
  1. Peel the oranges and the lemon and remove any visible seeds. Place in a blender and blend on high speed until smooth. If you don't like the pulp pour it through a strainer.
  2. Fill the glasses 1/3 with the orange lemon mix and the rest with sparkling water. Feel free to change the ratio depending on how sweet you would like your lemonade to be.
  3. Enjoy!

  1. Thank you Jeanne I would guess around 16, but I haven’t tried it yet. This recipe is for 2 glasses, and according to google there are 16 8 ounce glasses in a gallon. I hope that helps 🙂
